First timer -QUICK & SIMPLE, Apr 08, 2008
Reviewer: John Colyer of Colorado Springs, CO
Reading the directions, I thought, "I have to remove the valve stem? How do you do THAT? Can I do something like that? If I mess up, it means buying a new tube..." Yep, it was scary to think about, but I went for it.
I screwed off the cap (the tool they give you for getting the stem out), put it in to the stem, turned it gently (the only thing I could think of), and behold... out came the valve stem! It took all of 30 seconds.
From there, I put the filler tube on the bottle, put the other end on the stem, and squeezed it in.
I took the filler tube off, carefully inserted the valve, screwed it back down, and gave it a quick spin. I went to the back tire, repeated all the above, inflated both to the right pressure (mine is 85psi), gave each about 20 gentle revs, and I'm ready to ride.
All together, it might have been about 15 minutes from deflating to inflating.
The ONLY suggestion I have is for this specific bottle. It's the 8oz, which takes care of two tires. You use 4oz for each tire... My suggestion is simple: make up a measurement line on the bottle, a halfway mark if nothing else, so you know that each tire gets an even amount.
That said, let me end with noting how QUICK & EASY the whole process is... even if you've never done it before
